I only hope that one day I can grow and become something as wonderful as her blog has grown to be.

So Dani, here's to you. *raises glass* We wish you many more great years to come and many more awesome reviews that I, for one, can not wait to read.

Cheers!

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days #1)
by Susan Ee

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco where she’ll risk everything to rescue her sister and he’ll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

My thoughts:
I have never read anything by this author but I have to say the first thing that caught my eye about this book is the cover. I love it! and then reading what the book was about it goes together so perfectly. This book sounds gritty and just down right awesome! I can't wait until I can take this off my wishlist and actually read it.

Holy Matrimony
by Krystal S. Willingham

Death will walk beside me
As I walk down the aisle.
Looking into your eyes
Watching as my life
Now fads away
With every step I take.
Every second that slips away.
Not ever knowing
What it would be like
To have one happy moment,
The one happy moment
That was to be spent with you.
Yes, death will be the one
To walk with me
Down the aisle
To your waiting arms
Where my life will fade away
Into this darkness called eternity
Never to be heard of again
Until the day
When I take my last breath
And death again will be with me
To take me into another world
Where we shall be together again.

Destine
by Katherine Polillo

Michelle Cross is an average, seventeen year old girl growing up in a small town in New Jersey. Up until her senior year, her life has consisted of a rather unglamorous existence. Her closet friend Cami has been by her side since kindergarten, she has a loving if somewhat absente father, and a mother who is unique to say the least. Michelle’s mother was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was twelve years old, and ever since then she has had delusions of angels and demons battling over her only child. Michelle accepts her mother’s delusions as schizophrenic ramblings, until a handsome new boy finds her at school. Little by little Michelle’s world is turned upside down. The new boy claims to be the Archangel Gabriel cast from heaven, her best friend falls for the Antichrist, and come to find out Michelle’s mother has seen it coming all along. So instead of being consumed with prom and graduation, Michelle finds herself battling the evils of Hell in her small town. The four horsemen of the apocalypses have descended on her high school and with the help of Gabriel, her very own angel; she must stop the events leading to the apocalypse. What surprises Michelle even more than her role in saving humanity is the love that develops between Gabriel and herself. Can their love bridge the world between heaven and earth? Can Michelle stop the powers of Hell in time? Michelle and Gabriel find themselves the pawns in a very dangerous game between an ancient power with a mysterious message and Satan himself.

The Childe (The Childe #1)
by C.A. Kunz

Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager. Sure, she’s taller than most girls, has a mane of fiery red hair that’s impossible to tame, is left-handed, and her eyes are two different colors, but that’s where the differences end... unless you include the minor detail of her slow transformation into a Childe.

High school can definitely be challenging, and for Cat it’s no different. This is especially true when she’s faced with the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times. To make matters worse, her family is oddly dead set against Ryan, the boy she grows to like. But everyone has their secrets: is Ryan really what he seems to be, and what is Cat’s family not telling her?

The Childe is the first book in this coming-of-age fantasy series which follows Cat's life through the twists and turns toward finding out whom and what she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with mystery, biting humor, and the paranormal.

Night Marchers (Night Marchers #1)

by Rebecca Gober

“NEVER, EVER lock eyes with a Night Marcher!” Everyone in Hawaii has heard this warning, except for seventeen-year-old Emma Townsend that is. For most Hawaiians know that looking into the eyes of Night Marcher can strike a curse that will end in death or eternal servitude.

Even though her father, who is a paranormal investigator, solely raised Emma, she has little experience in the realm of the supernatural. When she is forced to move with her father to Hawaii, only months before her graduation, Emma finds that her world as she knows it, is shaken when she starts seeing the unexplainable: fire balls in the distance, beating drums in the middle of nowhere and strangers who vanish into thin air. Then one day when she has a run in with a procession of Night Marchers, ancient Hawaiian spirits wandering from their burial grounds to their locations of battles past, Emma has no choice but to believe that the unbelievable does exist.

Now Emma must go on the run with the help of a mysterious stranger, as they seek out how to free Emma from the curse of a Night Marcher, who will stop at nothing to get her soul.

The Pearl Savage by Tamara Rose Blodgett **Review**

The Pearl Savage
by Tamara Rose Blodgett

Series: Savage Series
Pages: 272
Release date: June 14th 2011
Buy eBook: Amazon

Goodreads synopsis: Seventeen-year old princess, Clara Williamson, lives an old-fashioned existence in a biosphere of the future.

When her sadistic mother, Queen Ada, betroths her to an abusive prince of a neighboring sphere, Clara determines to escape Outside, where savages roam free.

Clara escapes tyranny only to discover the savages are not the only people who survived the cataclysmic events of one hundred forty years prior.

Once Outside, Clara finds herself trapped, unable to return to the abusive life of the sphere while facing certain danger Outside.

Can Clara find love and freedom with the peril that threatens to consume her?

My thoughts: I was not exactly sure as to what to expect with this novel but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This was a very well-written novel. I was blown away by the story and the way you were instantly connected to the characters and the trials they went through. I end up connecting with characters when I read books but never have I connected with them so soon when reading this book. Blodgett is able to write in a way that keeps the story fresh, original and even maintains the almost archaic tone throughout without straying into modernization or slang that some writers end up doing. You can tell that Blodgett put lots of love and time into this novel because of the way she has perfected the language which causes the reader to be transported to another world entirely.

This was more of a romance novel than suspense but it is still able capture the reader and create suspense in the characters actions and holding onto information until just the right moment. Usually, I really dislike romance novels but this one was able to capture my attention and keep me involved with just the right amount of passion and romance without making it mushy.

I love the fact that Blodgett does not leave the end of the novel hanging on for dear life but leaves it in such a way that it can be open for a sequel which makes you want more and want to see where the journey will go next.

I am very much looking forward to reading the sequel "The Savage Blood" and to see which man Clara chooses and what happens with the sphere and the evil Prince Fredrick.

I rate this book:

Wishlist Wednesday #2

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen and Paper, where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

Modern Faerie Tales (The Modern Faerie Tales #1-3)
by Holly Black

In Tithe, sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she drifts from place to place with her mother’s rock band until an ominous attack forces Kaye back to her childhood home. There, amid the blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient and violent power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms—a struggle that could very well mean her death.

In Valiant, the companion to Tithe, seventeen-year-old Valerie runs away to New York City, trying to escape a life that has utterly betrayed her. Sporting a new identity, she takes up with a gang of squatters who live in the city’s labyrinthine subway system. But there’s something eerily beguiling about Val’s new friends. When one talks Val into tracking down the lair of a mysterious creature, Val finds herself torn between her affection for an honorable monster and her fear of what her new friends are becoming.

In Ironside, the sequel to Tithe, the time has come for Roiben’s coronation. Uneasy in the midst of the malevolent Unseelie Court, pixie Kaye is sure of only one thing—her love for Roiben. But when Kaye drunkenly declares herself to Roiben, he sends her on a seemingly impossible quest to find a faerie who can tell a lie. Unable to see Roiben until she has fulfilled his quest, Kaye finds herself in the center of the battle of wits and weapons being waged over his throne.

My thoughts: The reason I want these books so much is because it deals with fairies and how it could be if you were to find out if you were half fairy, half human. I think that, from what I have read, that the stories would be great and would totally keep my attention. Oh, and did I mention that I love faires so these books are seriously right up my alley. I mean, for that reason alone is why I want these books as much as I do. It seems like a great world to get lost in for a few days. Can't wait to get my hands on these.

Questionable Uncertainty
by Krystal S. Willingham

I never thought I would love again
then suddenly I met you.
I'm not sure what to say.
I'm not sure what to do.
I'm not even sure
what I want from you.
You started out as a friend
Then more we grew into.
You have to know
I am more than scared
Of what could happen
Than what we’re
Getting ourselves into.
I've been hurt so much
I can't keep count.
Even though you say
“I could never do that.”
I can't help but doubt.
I can't help but wonder.
What could be waiting?
When I let it all out.
I'm still not sure.
I'm still in doubt.
But I can be sure
That I can't lose you.

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5)
by Cassandra Clare

The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon. Can the lost be reclaimed? What price is too high to pay for love? Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide?
Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge.
Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Cassandra Clare has become one of my favoriate authors over the past few years. I fell in love with the Mortal Instrument books after reading City of Bones and have been obsessed with this series since then. City of Lost Souls is the fifth installment of the Mortal Instrument series and it looks to be one of the best one so far. I find myself drawn into these books and thrown into a world of mystery and danger. I can't wait to see what happens between Clary and Jace and  the rest of the characters in this thrill ride.
