Book Description

Jess is no ordinary vampire. Protected by the Manchester vampire clan, and initiated by her family’s east coast American coven, she is sought after by every dark witch and warring vampire faction. Jess must fight if she wants to keep hold of her friends, her sanity and finally her existence.

As the dead bodies of human girls begin to stack up, and her recently accepted vampire boyfriend, Daniel, finds himself in prison, Jess goes on a crazy, forbidden trip to London, racing against time to save an old friend and solve the mystery behind Daniel’s incarceration. In battling new enemies and finding new friends, Jess’s confidence finds room to grow, but who will she lose along the way?

Excerpt

I watched helplessly as swords swung and wands spat out spells. The angels were pushing the witches back, rounding them up like a collie rounds up wayward sheep. One witch was slumped in a ragged heap, motionless and I wondered if the angels were capable of murder.

I was fed up of being a helpless child. I pulled at my invisible restraints and arched my body to no avail. It would take more than superhuman strength to break these bonds. I shut my eyes on the surrounding combat, and concentrated as Eva had taught me to do. I dragged up every emotion, every scar, every lost love and I condensed them. I squeezed them together, to form a ball of pure emotion, fiery and full of frustration. I opened my eyes and arched my back once again, sending the power ball racing through my limbs. I imagined it tearing up my arms and down the muscles in my legs, freeing me and breaking the magical bonds. Twice I sent them tearing round my body, and twice I felt the bonds tremble, but they held. I scrunched my eyes up one last time, sure I was doing the right thing, and with an almighty effort I visualized my freedom and screamed. Heat blasted through my injured arm and bound legs, freeing them, and I finally slumped to the ground panting.

About the Author
Emma Mills
Hi I'm Emma. I am happily married with two lovely children. I have always loved reading and writing and have just written my first novel. After acquiring an obsessive love of supernatural teen novels...yes I'm a Twilight fan...I decided to write my own supernatural story based here in Manchester in the UK, near where I live and grew up. It's currently dark, windy, cold and very very wet... and easy to get inspiration!
