Small Town Girl

I’m just a small town girl
trying to find her way
searching for a dream
that always seems to disappear.
Trying to find myself
in this big ol’ world
but finding only tears
and more heartache.
Not knowing my purpose
but willing to take a chance.
I watch as my life passes by
right before my eyes.
I can’t help but wonder why.
Why am I doing this?
Why am I here?
Why can’t I have everything
that seems to disappear?
I’m here on this stage called life
and I’m praying for just one more night.
So I can find myself
and make all of this right.
To find that dream
that has so long ago left
and maybe find that small town girl
and have one more laugh.
